PDFix ("the App", "we", "us") is a document scanning application published by ydev. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Scanned pages, imported photos, generated PDFs, and signatures you draw are stored locally in the App's storage on your device (and in your device backups, if you have iCloud/Google backup enabled at the OS level). We do not have access to this content and it is never transmitted to our servers.
The App requests camera access to scan documents and photo library access to import existing images or save finished scans. These permissions are used only to let you choose what to scan or save — no image is sent anywhere without your action (e.g., tapping "Share").
OCR is performed using Google ML Kit's on-device text recognition model. Images and extracted text are processed locally and are not sent to Google or any other third party for this feature.
The QR scanner reads codes using your camera in real time. Scanned QR content is shown to you in the App and is not transmitted to us.
We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand how the App is used — for example, which features are opened and how often, and to diagnose crashes. This includes:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| App events (screen views, feature usage, e.g. "scan completed", "PDF shared") | Understand feature usage and improve the App |
| Device/app identifiers (Firebase installation ID, device model, OS version, app version) | Attribute events to a single install, without identifying you personally |
We do not send document content, file names, extracted OCR text, or photo library contents to Firebase Analytics.
Subscriptions are managed by RevenueCat and billed through the Apple App Store / Google Play. RevenueCat receives:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| An anonymous app user ID, purchase/subscription status, transaction history | Verify your entitlement to PDFix Pro features and manage renewals/cancellations |
To attribute subscription revenue to app usage, the RevenueCat app user ID is linked with the Firebase Analytics app instance ID. This link does not include your name, email, or payment details — App Store/Google Play handle billing directly and we never see your card information.
| Service | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Firebase Analytics (Google) | Usage analytics, crash diagnostics | policies.google.com/privacy |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Google ML Kit (on-device) | Text recognition (OCR), runs locally | developers.google.com/ml-kit |
| Apple App Store / Google Play | Payment processing for subscriptions | apple.com/legal/privacy / policies.google.com/privacy |
Your documents remain on your device until you delete them. We never auto-delete user documents. Analytics data is retained by Firebase according to Google's standard retention settings. Deleting the App from your device removes all locally stored documents.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
